! Affordable Housing Committee

This committee . . . . Chair: Pam Bolus.

Minutes of Committee meetings:

Ed Bove-RAHC Regional Affordable Housing Corporation-- attended the meeting and discussed types of housing projects RAHC supports and RAHC's potential interest in some form a housing development in Pownal. The pros/cons of our committee becoming not-for-profit were also discussed, and all felt further data was needed before a final decision could be voted upon. Continued attempts to engage Vt. Legal Aide for identified residents around ownership of moble homes at Green Mountain Mobile Home Park was presented along with the possibility of collaborating with an intern from Vt. Law School to help clear up true dwelling ownership. A letter regarding use of the intern and stipend was to be drafted and presented to the select board. Next meeting will be Feb. 7, 2007 at 6pm at the Route 346 firehouse. If you have any questions, please contact Pam Bolus, 823-7218 or pvbvt@sover.net

I am very much interested in knowing more about this committee and the progress thus far. From the minutes that are posted on the wiki, I am able to discern that some attention is being focused on mobile homes and mobile home parks as affordable housing. Are the other affordable housing options being looked at as well?

I would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about the affordable housing committee; what is it's mission at this point? Is this committee still in an early development stage?

Below is a link to an interesting Needs Assessment guide that I found on the web.

I don't know if you've heard anything from the committee, but I'll forward your message to the chair. --Ray
